Easter and family

We three ducks have a busy household at the moment.
My lovely sister inlaw and nephew are visiting from Ireland.
So we have been out and about doing the tourist trail.

Mr O and I also celebrated 15 years of marriage on Thursday.
It was wonderful to have my sister inlaw here to help us celebrate
as she was last here when we tied the knot.

I have managed to squeeze in a little bit of sewing here and there
getting ready for the Little Big market
this Sunday.
I will show you some pictures after Easter of my new cushions.

In the meantime as it is Easter time I thought I would
share with you some little ducks I made a few years ago for Master O.
They are not quiet as sweet as the real thing.

I wish you all a happy and safe Easter.

Scottie Dogs

I had a lovely day at Crafternoon Tea yesterday.
I sold some of my new designs
which is always a great feeling.

To celebrate I bought a
print called
"Two Blue Fantails"
which will look great in my lounge.

Holly does beautiful work, she is having an
exhibition at Mixt this coming week .
If you get a chance do pop in and see her work
You should also see on the shelves some of my creations too.

More Dancing Rabbits

So the
"Dancing Rabbits"
have made it off of the ipad cases and onto
Hotwater Bottle Covers and Cushions.

I have always used mostly
multi coloured blankets for my
Hotwater Bottle Covers
but right now I am loving the simplicity
of making the covers in one colour only.

My first market for the year is this weekend.
It has been wonderful having a 3 month break.

However I must confess I am looking forward to this Saturday
and seeing all my lovely crafty friends and customers.
The "Dancing Rabbits" will be coming with me.

Cushions

Since I started doing market stalls people
are always asking
" Do you make Cushions?"
I have always said
NO

Cushions to me have been something
I just did not want to do.
Also finding big enough pieces of blanket with no marks or stains is not always easy.

Earlier this year I made Master O a cushion.....................
 and much to
my surprise I enjoyed doing it.

So I ordered a load of books from the library on cushion making.
Studied up and here are some of my first efforts.

I did large Hydrangeas in different shades on recycled
cream blanket.
The leaves are all sewing machined on.
The petals are all hand sewn on.
I have hand dyed all the felt myself.

With these cushions I did not do a zip opening.
They are decorative cushions and not designed to be washed.
They would really need to be sponged clean should they get
any marks on them.

I am now working on another range of cushions and these have zip openings.
I found this tutorial to be the absolute best for teaching me how to do a
perfect zip opening.

These cushions are now in my Felt store.
